◕ What is Universal Character Names in C++?

- Let, we have to write a C++ program for a different language, like Bengali, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, Thai, German, French etc. C++ has a mechanism for representing international characters that is independent of any particular keyboard. This mechanism is called Universal Character Names.





◕ How to use Universal Character Names in C++?

- We can use Universal Character Names same as Escape Sequences.

- An Universal Character Names begins either with \u or \U.
The \u form is followed by 8 hexadecimal digits, and the \U form is followed by 16 hexadecimal digits.
These digits represent the ISO Code Point for that character.
ISO is an international standard that provides numeric codes for a wide range of characters.

- Let have an example:

cout << "\u00A2";





◕ What is Code Point in C++?

- Unicode provides a standard numbering system for characters, digits and symbols.
For an example, Latin character ' A ' has an Unicode representation number.
This Unicode representation number is called the Code Point.

Example of an Unicode Code Point:
U-111E.
Here the U identifies that, this as a Unicode character.
